GCA 2027 Board Nominations Now Open

The Guardian and Conservator Association of Oregon (GCA) is seeking dedicated, qualified members to serve on the Board of Directors. Participating in board governance is one of the most impactful ways to give back to our professional community, shape upcoming initiatives, and uphold our standards of practice.

How to Submit a Nomination

  • Self-Nominations: Any eligible member may nominate themselves directly.

  • Peer Nominations: Members may nominate a colleague. Please ensure you have cleared the intent to nominate with the candidate prior to submitting their name.

Candidate Submission Requirement:

Once nominated, all candidates must submit a short bio and a statement of interest outlining their background, why they are interested in serving, and why they would be a great fit for the GCA Board.

Current Open Positions & Responsibilities

Board members are expected to maintain status as a member in good standing, attend regular meetings, serve on at least one committee, and actively participate in organizational oversight.

  1. Vice President (Second Vice President): Elected annually as part of a four-year leadership progression (Second VP → First VP → President → Past President). Acts as the Board liaison for the Technology Committee and assists the President with special assignments.

  2. Treasurer: Administers fiscal matters and develops the Annual Operating Budget. Responsible for financial reporting, tracking bank accounts and insurance, coordinating dues/income with the Secretary, and serving on the Membership Committee.

  3. Director: Serves a three-year elected term providing general leadership, governance, and oversight for the Association while advancing GCA’s mission and strategic goals.

Note: Per GCA Bylaws, all Board members must be members in good standing, National Certified Guardian, serve at least one committee, and have been a GCA member for at least one year prior to taking office (unless they’re nominated by the board.)
