Senior Provider Information Network Presents:
“Physical Ability and the Aging Adult – Optimizing Movement for Independence” by Matt Whitaker, MPT
Aging is a process in which all individuals either passively or actively participate. While a decline in physical ability is inevitable to some degree, many variables remain in one’s control and can tip the scales in favor of maximizing physical independence over time.
This session will address ways to optimize movement across the aging spectrum, addressing limitations that lead to a decline in physical independence. Too often for the aging adult and their families, this is a predominant factor determining the appropriate level of care. Ways to apply key concepts will be provided to participants for their target populations for a variety of settings from complete independent living to the skilled level of care.
