“Be the Connection: The impact of isolation and loneliness during COVID-19” by Kera Magarill of Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services, and Laruel Wonder of the Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative.

Even before the COVID-19 crisis, older adults were disproportionately affected by loneliness and isolation. Now, all of us are getting a glimpse into that world and more than ever we are understanding what it feels like to be lonely, isolated and alone. Learn about the negative impacts loneliness and isolation have on our health and what it will take stay connected throughout the lifespan. Get ideas and support from local resources in the tri-county area who are already making headway in reducing older adult loneliness and isolation throughout the pandemic and beyond.
